They made sure every single question I had was answered, and are always available if I think of any more questions I want answered. Their staff is the most friendly, welcoming staff I've ever dealt with. They are so warm and professional, and make the whole experience that much better. I was very satisfied with my visit. They were helpful and I left feeling encouraged. The office was very easy to locate. I didn't have any trouble finding it at all.

Dr. Mazzone was very comforting and made my conversation with him regarding my mental health easier than I thought possible. He spoke with me about a few different medication options, and gave me an anti-anxiety med to take along with my anti-depressant, without changing my anti-depressant. He also took blood for a blood test a different provider had asked for and for tests his own staff wanted to run. He made sure I felt taken care of.

They drew blood for tests which I told them I didn't have medical insurance and couldn't afford the costs of the lab work. They did the tests anyway. Never once did the doctor make any attempt to advise me about the lab fees, nor did he make any attempt to ask the billing dept to talk to me about the fees. Nor did he advise me that I might be able to get these tests done elsewhere (for perhaps a lower cost). He seemed more interested in doing the lab work against my wishes and basically disregarded the fact that I told him I couldn't afford the fees.
Then the doctor started telling me that I need to make arrangements to get medical insurance. I'm sorry, but he's my physician, not my career counselor. He has no business telling me what I need to do about working or getting insurance.

Also, after one of the tests (blood sugar test) I asked him what the result was and he wouldn't tell me. All he would say was "it's a little high". Never once did he ask me about anything that might lead to this high blood sugar. He seemed more like he just wanted to diagnose me with diabetes in spite of the fact that I do not have any symptoms of diabetes.

I feel like they "bullied" me into getting the lab work done and didn't care whether I could afford it or not.

I left the office with a $240 office visit fee. I find this exceptionally unethical for them charging me for lab tests that they were aware I couldn't afford.

I find their practices HIGHLY unethical and I have filed a complaint against them with the Medical Board of California.

And yes, the doctor did take a personal phone call and left the exam room to speak with someone (he said it was his wife).
