Outstanding service from Dr. Hester and his staff. After years of complaining about "my allergies" I decided to see someone about ongoing sinus issues and am now fully in control. Dr Hester was kind, straight forward, and most importantly, treated my issue successfully.

If you have sinus problems that keep recurring, please pay Dr. Hester a visit to see if a minor surgery or procedure will help them stop coming back. I've done two with him, the first was a turbinate reduction which helped me for 5 years and the second was widening the maxillary sinus openings which has kept infections at bay for 3 years and counting. I was so pleased with his care the first time that I drove 1.5 hrs each way to make the second one happen with him. I first went to a well-known ENT in my area who was so patronizing that I just missed Dr. Hester even more! Dr Hester is the most amazing physician I have ever met in terms of bedside manner - he takes ALL the time you need to answer ALL your questions and really explain to you what is going on and how to fix it. He's also a very talented surgeon who will take literally an hour (if you need it like I did the first time) to explain pros and cons of procedures so you can make a good decision with NO pressure or rush. The anesthesiologists he used both times were also really nice and frank and patient as well - birds of a feather flock together I guess! And his post-op care is excellent. (My only beef is he had this one impatient receptionist but she may be gone by now.) If you're within any driving distance of Dr. Hester, you owe yourself a consult with him before you enter into ANY surgery or if other dr's treatments aren't working for you. If I could I'd give him more than 5 stars - especially on helpfulness, patience, taking time to educate you, making sure YOU are the expert and director of your care, making sure you're totally comfortable. He's just a lovely man and what a doctor SHOULD be but so few are these days.

I went to Dr. Hester one month ago because I was having great difficulty in breathing through my nose (as I have had for most of my life). I wondered what role, if any, this played in my sleep apnea (my husband reports that I snore, snort and startle during the night; a sleep study 10 years ago said that I had mild-moderate sleep apnea). It turns out that my septum was severely deviated (although I have no recollection of an injury to the nose). Hester patiently described a possible surgical treatment (a septoplasty), the expected risks, benefits and recovery. He made it clear that the chances of this fixing my sleep apnea were very low, although it might help using a CPAP machine to be more successful. He described the surgery as relatively low risk, without a huge recovery time. Feeling absolutely no pressure from him one way or the other, I made the decision to have the surgery. Things have gone almost to a "T" for me as the normal course of recovery (very little pain, easy recovery).
Now, one week after the surgery, I have seen Hester for 2 post-op visits. I could not be more impressed with his bedside manner. He truly seeks to inform and educate his patients. In addition, he wants the best possible outcome from his surgeries. He sees his patients again at 4 weeks and 3-4 months after surgery to check on the full outcome of the surgery. If there are still issues, he will do his best to "tweak" the nose to improve things as much as possible. I have had many issues over the years with congenital ear problems and have seen many ENT's. Dr. Hester's competence and bedside manner are amongst the best I've come across.
