I was pushed into a complete hysterectomy, including losing my ovaries because I wasn’t provided any alternatives and didn’t know otherwise BECAUSE I AM NOT A DOCTOR. I al vaginal reconstruction for bladder and rectal prolapse, and all of the concerns that I had and was told would NOT be a problem, ABSOLUTELY ARE A PROBLEM, to the point that I face miserable long term recovery or maybe I will just pray for an early death. Go elsewhere.

I saw her when I was working in Anchorage in 2013. What a wonderful down to earth doctor that talks and listens to your health concerns. She diagnosed every problem I had correctly and even pointed out areas of concern that I needed to check out. Thank you so much for your time, your concerns helped me to prevent and monitor future problems.
I would give her a 5 + rating.

They made sure to find out about my obstetric history and every pre-existing condition before my appointment. This made the examination go a lot faster. It is so refreshing to see a provider that you can tell truly cares about their appearance. They strive to maintain a professional appearance and look their best at all times. They were so respectful and kind. They went above and beyond what I would expect and really made me feel welcome. Their staff is very friendly and professional. I felt that they really valued my health and happiness because they followed up even after my appointment just to check up on me. It was such a nice gesture that made a huge difference. She does really well with complicated cases and due to her thoroughness she found another serious condition that many others overlooked. Due to her I will be much healthier and know I am in good hands.

She did reasonably well in the OB visits leading up to the birth of my baby, but I did feel she was making a case for C-section. The day my baby was born wasn't her day, so the hospital called her back-up, who never showed. the staff docter at the hospital delivered my baby. Nearly 24 hours later there was still no contact from Dr. Merkouris or her office. We called them, and the office said they were aware, then found out Dr. Mekouris didn't know. When she did find out, she didn't bother to call us in the hospital to congratulate us or ask if everything was ok. Meanwhile our pediatrician office was calling us nearly daily and the pediatrician came in twice to check our baby. Nearly 36 hours after the birth Dr. Mekouris breezed in and out (which was necessary because she was needed to get discharged). I am thoroughly unimpressed and would not recommend her.
