Dr Orso was my ob/gyn for many years. Everything was fine until he recommended anti-depressants & demanded I go on hormone replacement therapy even though it was contraindicated for patients with fibocystc disease. I refused & he was furious. He also recommended fen-fen for weight loss after it had already been flagged for causing heart damage. It was taken off the market 2 weeks later. I refused that, as well. I lost all faith in him at that time.

The absolute worst appointment I have ever had with a doctor. I had an appointment at 4:00pm. Dr. Orso tried to cancel my appointment six minutes before I arrived. Once I arrive at my appointment, I met a young lady in the waiting room that mentioned that she had been waiting 45 minutes for her appointment. After I was called back and the usual weight and lab, I was supposed to have a consult with Dr. Orso. He refused to have a consult with me. My entire appointment he kept looking down at his watch saying I have somewhere I have to be. I felt I was a inconvenience. No patient should ever feel this way. Especially for an appointment that has been made for over a month. He should have called and rescheduled my appointment since he was "so busy". Finally, the young lady from the lobby was seen by him, because the doctor she was supposed to see had left for the day. This will probably get deleted. But this is my truth about Birmingham OBGYN.
