Let's start with the office-- it's not good:
1. It's in a rickety old house, and the door to the office is at the end of a weird hallway. The whole place smells terrible, like an old lady with cats, and the office itself is filled with old furniture, including a dirty-looking couch. I guess they were going for a homey feel, so if you like that, you'll be into it. I prefer a more polished feel in a doctor's office.
2. There's no parking. I initially parked in the large, empty lot right next to them, and was informed by the receptionist that that wasn't their lot, and that they only had a small driveway but I couldn't park there because then I would be blocking the previous customer in, and I had to drive back down the street and find parking on-street (there's no parking allowed on the street right in front of their office. So I leave, re-park my car, and come back.
3. At this point it's 3:05 and my appointment was for 3pm, but he's an entire patient behind schedule so I don't get in until 3:30. This is despite the fact that I had called around 11am to ask if there was any possibility of moving my appointment back to 3:30, because I had a meeting at work. She told me no, he was totally booked, and I said no problem, I understand. Well, imagine my annoyance when I rushed out of my meeting and didn't get seen until 3:30 anyway, and there was NO ONE after me.

Onto the doctor/exam. In fairness, Dr. Mancini was very nice. And he seemed thorough... until we got to the end, and he handed me a pair of contacts with the wrong prescription. At the beginning of the exam he had asked if I had any trouble with my vision, and I said "No, although this pair of glasses is an old prescription and I have a little trouble seeing with them, but usually I wear my contacts, which have an updated prescription, so it's not a problem." I had forgotten to bring my existing contact prescription, but I didn't think it mattered, because isn't that the POINT of going to see the doctor, to get a new one? So at the end of the exam he comes back with a pair of contacts, and I put them in, and I say "I can't really read the chart," and his response is "Those are the same prescription as your glasses." Oh, you mean the glasses that I specifically told you were out of date? And why were you relying on looking at my glasses to determine my prescription, what exactly were you doing the whole time you were asking "Better, or worse"? So I had to insist that he bump me up a quarter diopter, and he gave me another pair of contacts, but when I got home, it turns out that my previous prescription was another diopter higher than that! So the entire exam was just a useless formality that I needed in order to buy new contacts, and the end result is ME having to tell HIM what my prescription is-- what kind of doctor is that??

I hate to write a bad review of a really nice doctor, but he failed to accomplish the main objective of the appointment, which was to give me an accurate contact prescription...

Dr. Mancini is patient and kind. He and his secretary bend over backwards to make sure that my glasses fit and work well. He is a dedicated professional, whose minute adjustments to glasses make a big difference.

Dr. Mancini has excellent and unique skills to customize a prescription beyond just visual acuity, but is also able to account for how your entire system reacts to the vision correction. I highly recommend his approach and him personally.
