Mittleman litetrally forced a procedure on me while I was barefoot in the patient chair, and unsure of what he was doing. He disregarded my wishes about delaying the treatment until I had consulted my family doctor and read the research associated with this procedure which is very new.

Also two men from the company that sells the product he was "pushing" entered the examination room while I was being treated. Mittleman did not ask my permission or introduce them. It was humiliating, embarrassing and reflects what I see as his arrogant, bullying approach to dealing with patients, when he thinks he is in control.

There was no reason for this to occur. A few weeks to learn more about the procedure, and a few minutes for him to explain the process, the time, the inconveniences of not getting my feet wet for days, what the costs would be and how they would be apportioned between the insurance company and me, would have made me more comfortable with Mittleman and the procedure. As it is, I hope I never see him again, and if I do, I cannot predict what my reaction to him will, but it will not be friendly.

I am writing to inform the MDs and staff that I was very unhappy with my initial visit at your office. I was seen for a consult to assess if what I had on the bottom of my feet were wart-like and possible treatments for removal. The MD I saw was not able to answer any of my questions. I was informed that what I had could be wart-like but may not. When discussing possible treatments, no further insight was offered into the best possible options. I was offered to trial a $300-400 cream and/or cutting process. He recommended trialing the cream but said it may not work… just need to try and see. If it doesn’t work we will cut them off, per MD report. I suggested to just cut them off but it seems he preferred to trial the cream. I continued to ask statistics of success for either treatments and successful experiences previous patients have had with either of these treatments. No answers. I asked insurance questions regarding coverage of possible removal and still no insight. Why would I want to buy an expensive cream that may not even work and in the end, I will end up having to pay for the removal?

Furthermore, while I was waiting to check out (I was standing directly in front of her), the front desk answered a phone call and was very inconsiderate to a patient on the line. She gave a lot of attitude that was very unprofessional. While she was doing all this, she was flipping through her US Weekly gossip magazine. After she hung up the phone, she continued to look through her magazine before attending to me, the customer standing right in front of her.

I also work in healthcare, and understanding the uncertainty of insurance and that one treatment does not always guarantee success for a patient, but there were multiple situations that were handled poorly during my experience.
