For past 7 months, my wife has been undergoing cancer treatment (very successfully I might add) with Dr Patel. He is highly skilled Oncologist & very well respected in professional circles in Rock Hill, Charlotte & Duke University. Dr Patel should really be given a degree in psychology as well! That’s because he treats your mind & body together. He worked with me, my wife & daughter to create an atmosphere of positive energy around us. To tell you the truth, that was half the cure! It prevented us from going into a negative spiral. Dr Patel is extremely organized; every single appointment we went to, he was on-time, had knowledge of past history, current line of treatment and a clear understanding of next steps. He did not blindly follow the conventional treatment. Instead, he built upon it with his own out-of-the-box thinking and followed his instincts. He took time to calmly explain logic & reasoning behind the line of treatment. His partner doctors, Dr Gor & Dr Naidu were wonderful as well! Very friendly & courteous staff including office manager, Sanjay.

I have been seeing Dr. Patel since April of 2011 after being diagnosed at age 34 with triple negative breast cancer. I have never meet a Dr. with as much compassion and concern for his patients. From my very 1st appointment every time I have had a question or concern he has been on top of it for me. From giving me the answers to running the tests. There is no time limit when you are in his office he makes you feel as you’re the only patient he needs to see. I have never felt rushed or incompetent. I know when I go in his office not only do I have the best oncologist available but also an ear to bend and a friend to lean on! Not only that his nurses and chemo nurses are amazing! I could not have done this with out any of them!

Everyone in my community knows that they are the absolute best in the field. I didn't wait long at all. My appointment started on time, and the wait was much shorter than other offices I have been to. They went out of their way to make me feel special and respected, and were very sympathetic to my situation. I've never seen more kindness and empathy anywhere else.

Dr Patel was to give us blood test results on Thursday 8/8/2013 for blood that was drawn approx a week ago for my wife. We were told to call his office on 8/8th to obtain the results. We called early that morning and was told that the blood test results were in but that Dr Patel would have to provide that information himself and that no one else could give us the results. We were told Dr Patel would call us later in the day.
We waited until around 3 P.M. and called his office back. We were told he has been with patients and that he would call us when he gets free. Around 4 ;30 P.M. we called back and were told he would call us before the end of the day. No call! We called his office on Friday 8/9th and was told he is not in the office on that date and to call back on Monday 8/12th for results. On Monday 8/12th we called his office and were told that Dr Patel would return our call with the results. We then rec'd a call from his office stating that she needs to come in to give more blood as the sample they took did not contain enough blood to provide any results. They indicated that they will call us on Tuesday 8/13/2013 with the results.And so the saga continues. Oh I should mention that my wife was originally diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma several months ago and Dr Patel ran additional blood work on her and and that time he stated that she does "NOT" have Multiple Myeloma. Incompetent? Perhaps! Lack of communication?Definitely! Stalling tactics? Perhaps! Poor staff management? Definitely! Stay tuned for further developments.
