Dr. Black is extremely intelligent & very business like, and I really suggest others to meet Dr. Blacck if dealing with medical issues like I am. Honestly I was very worried about meeting Dr. Black based on comments others have made about Dr. Black. Neurosurgeon Dr. Marano from Idaho Falls who saved my life due to brain injury in 2007 told me when I was dealing with migraines in 2014 that the doctor he knows that could help me the most is Dr. Black.

I was absolutely amazed how much more Dr. Black understood about migraines compared to other doctors. If I had not found Dr. Black, I was looking at trying to go back to Cleveland Clinic for support.

Dr. Black made sure every single question I had was answered, and is always available if I think of any more questions I want answered. I really admire him for being more than willing to ask for help from other professionals in the field when he doesn't have an answer to my question. If another professional doesn't have the answer, he studies it until he finds the solution. I'm confident he always has my best interest at heart. I've been other places that left me unattended for quite awhile, but not here. He always goes the extra mile to make me feel cared for. He went out of his way to make me feel special and respected, and was very sympathetic to my situation. I've never seen more kindness and empathy anywhere else.

For 5 weeks I have been experiencing a constant headache, and in general I don’t get them. After urging from friends and family, I tried to make an appointment to see a Neurologist. To my dismay, I would have to wait a month or so to get in. I was told by one receptionist that if I got a doctor’s referral, I could get in quicker. This started my journey; Massage Therapist, General Practitioner, Chiropractor, Dentist, Optometrist, MRI, and finally an appointment to see a Neurologist. MRI, Neck x-ray’s, and a complete written account of what I was experiencing, medications prescribed, and prior doctor’s visits in hand, I entered the office of Rocky Mountain Neurological Associates. They would not see me. Sometime through all my appointments, I misplaced my insurance card. The last doctor I’d seen took my daughter’s card (same info) and verified I was insured. I called Altius Customer Care, but Rocky Mountain Neurological Associates refused to except any form of verification not even from the insurance company. It had to be the plastic card or nothing. I tried to reschedule, but the office manager refused me and told me I couldn’t even make the appointment unless she saw my card. Although I tried to keep my composure, feelings of humiliation and defeat engulfed me as tears streamed down my face. To make things worse, the office manager rudely informed me if I couldn’t control myself, I would have to leave. In retrospect, I suppose it was a blessing. If this was the way Rocky Mountain Neurological Associates treat their patients, they obviously have a misconception about what it means to take care of people.
