I had an appointment with Dr. Brian Coder on Thursday, February 12th 2015 in order to get a referral to a specialist. Dr. Coder was very nice & I was very happy with his care. He seemed to think that his staff could get my referral sent off to my insurance that day & dealt with in a speedy manner. However, the nurse informed me that they only do referrals on Friday after 3p, after the doctors have left the office. I made sure that she knew I would like the referral made as quickly as possible. Monday, February 16th I called my insurance company & they had not received the referral. I called the doctors office & left 2 messages- one for the nurse & one on the line regarding insurance. I have received no call back to date (2/17/15). The specialist office has also contacted the doctors office on my behalf (2/17/15) & they were informed that they do not do referrals until Tuesday afternoon (so did they lie to me about friday afternoon or lie to them about tuesday afternoon?? or do they do them both times but just failed to get mine done on friday?). I called today to file a complaint about this less than satisfactory experience and I was put on hold for more than 5 minutes. I called back and was asked if I would please hold but before I could respond I was placed on hold.

I appreciated the friendly doctor visit but am less than satisfied with the results... the only reason I went was for a referral and I am still waiting for that to happen.

Dr. Brian Coder lost my 2 year old's shot records. I moved from out of state and brought a current copy of my child's shot records on my first visit. On my third visit, I was informed they hadn't given my child her 1 year or 1 year six month shots, so she was behind on her immunizations. So, I scheduled an appointment to have them administered. When I went in they said they couldn't find her shot records, I told them the lady at the reception desk had made a copy on my first visit and put it with my daughter's file. They eventually found it and gave her one series of shots. When I was leaving they said wait "eh, a month or two" and come in for the second series, which I did. When I came in this time he said they don't have any shot records on file except the last round they had given her the previous month. So, he told me, "Come back in like a week and a half so we can see if we can find them."
On top of that, my daughter had thrush in her mouth, he said he would call in a prescription for her at a specific location. This was at 10 a.m. I went to pick up the prescription at 5 p.m. and the pharmacy said they never received a call from him. So, I called the office and spoke to his personal nurse, who told me she would look in to it really quick and call me back. She never did. I still can't get ahold of anyone. This is the SECOND time he was suppose to call in a prescription for my child and never did. The first time I waited 2 hours at the pharmacy for them to call me back. They, of course, never did and when I EVENTUALLY GOT AHOLD OF THEM they told me the prescription he said he was going to call in isn't even available to my daughter due to her being too young and the dangers that entails.
All in all, I feel very frustrated with this "doctor" and would NOT recommend him to anyone.
