Dr. Persaud herself is great. She listened to me and my questions when I came in, since I've not been to a doctor in a long time. I have high cholesterol and she recommended a diet change for 3 months and then examined my blood work again, suggesting if it hadn't changed, she'd recommend a cholesterol medicine. Still in the high range, I was prescribed Lovastatin by the nurse practitioner since Dr. Persaud wasn't in that day.

Why only three stars? Her front end staff is incompetent. Every time I call, I am on the phone for 10 minutes or more, whether to simply change a date or most recently, re-fill a prescription. First of all, I was a little uncomfortable that I had to spell Lovastatin to the woman on the phone. I had already told her my name, she couldn't just pull it off the chart? She couldn't even find that I was on the medicine at first. I wasn't near my purse at the time so all I could give her was the name of the drug, not the strength.

Second of all, she asked what pharmacy I go to. I told the name and address of the pharmacy and she wanted the phone number. Now, I've been to offices, offices much more rundown and staff just as worse as this, including one medical office that I used to work at, and they have a list of pharmacies that their patients use that is fairly common among their patient pool.

It's sad that a doctor who is caring and attentive is supported by incompetence and attitude
