In the past, Dr. Fennewald has shown incredible knowledge of dermatology and treatments for skin problems. When I called to schedule an appointment, I was told that he has retired. The receptionist recommended that I see Ashley Thurman. During my 3 minute skin exam, Ms. Thurman made me feel as though I was intruding on her schedule. When I asked her about an issue with my toe nail, she said I should see a podiatrist. What???? Dermatologists are supposed to know about nails also. When I asked her about a spot on my back that is bothering me, she said it is "genetic" and I will get more of them. Ok, so what can I do to stop the constant itching and burning? She said to use Dove soap. ???? I wish it was that easy. I will not go back to Ms. Thurman and I do not recommend her to anyone.

I made numerous calls to dermatologists in our area looking for one that was convenient and took AETNA insurance. I came across Dr. Fennewald. After reading a rather negative review (below) I wasn't sure what to expect. I had two areas of concern. I was mailed the patient profile - which saved me time in the office as I filled it out at home. My wait was about 5 minutes. Dr, Fennewald's nurse was fabulous and I found Dr. Fennewald to be extremely through, taking time to examine and time to listen.
I would recommend Dr. Fennewald to anyone and took several of his business cards in order to do just that!!

The guy runs an assembly line practice.
It’s less about working with his patients to help them with their concerns/problems, and more about getting as many people in and out of his office to make as much money as quickly as possible. He is the dermatological equivalent of the doctor you go in to see for help with weight loss and he/she walks in, looks at you for a few seconds, and then gives you a prescription.
Do not go to this guy if you are looking for a doctor that cares about his patients.

I went in for my first appointment to discuss a few problems and concerns I had. Not only did his entire "exam" (He glanced over my upper body and face, no lower body) take all of about 90 seconds, but when i tried to ask him about another concern he literally told me, and i quote "We can't go over a laundry list of items today". Well excuse me for thinking that at least my original exam should be thorough.
