Absolutely terrible psychotherapist. She does not have any planned approach to help you solve your problems. This might be due to the fact that she is very old - the previous therapist I saw was only like 35. Perhaps training for people her age was not as good as for younger therapists. She is forgetful, unhelpful, likes to talk about her family all the time, and cackles in a really annoying way.

I was more willing to "work" through difficuly then she wated to help...somewhat lazy psychologist. She would chew gum, fix her hair, eat lunch, shorten visits, etc..she just seemed bored with it all.

They barely gave me any information at all. I'm going to have to do my own research to get my questions answered. Their staff was friendly enough, but they didn't go out of their way to help me. I feel like my appointment was pointless. None of my questions were answered, nothing was accomplished, and I felt worse when I left. The office was easy enough to find.
She dozed off frequently during therapy and appeared to be bored to death.
It became clear that a Psychologist was not going to find solutions or assist me in that direction. I found the best Psychiatist this city has and also finally got to the solution. I was not depressed but had anxiety. I was taken off of many medications and left only on one and am still taking that one after many years and I am perfectly fine. I also left the profession that I disliked and that was resulting in an unhealthy amount of stress.

No, they've never taken personal calls with me
Did a staff member acknowledge or greet you when you entered?
No, no one seemed to notice I was there

Yes, it was in a safe enough neighborhood

Extremely easy, and close to the entrance

Absolutely not! I constantly have to repeat and re-explain my situation!

Dr. Spiro is an excellent psychotherapist. She's professional and knowledgeable, but very personable and geniune too. She sticks to her appointment times and gives you her full attention during a session. She listens well, but she doesn't sit there with a clipboard. She engages you so that you feel you are learning something about yourself rather than just kvetching to an empty room.

She is older than most therapists, but don't let the gray hair fool you. She's very energetic and youthful in spirit, yet takes full advantage of the wisdom that comes with age.
