Dr. Pollak works in Long Island most of the time, so I only see him on Fridays when he is in Manhattan. I've never had a therapist before, and was initially very, very wary and skeptical. For the first couple of sessions, I was still feeling out Dr. Pollak-- he has a way of letting you run the sessions which can initially be very weird-- he just asks you, "so, what's going on?" and then lets you talk for a bit. But after about a month, we really hit our groove, and I have to say, I am very grateful for having gone to him. I think he's an EXCELLENT therapist, and I consider myself very lucky compared to the stories of my friends with other therapists. Dr. Pollak is very, very knowledgeable and even to my finely honed BS detector, he never gives BS answers just to make me feel good-- he is always honest. I highly, highly recommend him. A true professional.
