I was referred to Dr. Van Doren by two different friends. I can honestly say that this has been the best mental health experience I have had, and I have been seeing therapists and psychiatrist for over 20 years. He finally figures out my diagnosis and got me started with DBT. I hated this therapy at first, but a year later I am feeling so much better and I am no longer on 5 different medications. Dr. Van Doren has me down to two meds.

He's a bully and how he was allowed into a field where he would have contact with vulnerable people is just beyond me.

This man is sick himself. He intimidated and antagonize me. He literally threw a stack of paperwork across his desk at me and asked me to "explain" my illness. I left in tears. I have been further traumatized by his behavior which has made it difficult to trust any provider with my very personal self. I wanted only respect that I showed him, and professionalism in his specialty. I genuinely care about my own problems, my illness and getting better. He has no patience or tolerance for the field he chose. I'm sure it isn't an easy job, but I didnt deserve the despicable treatment I was given. My employer had to find another physician due to his harmful behavior. Please, avoid this physician at all costs. Don't be a victim as I was.

I couldn't believe how filthy their office was. I was scared I was going to catch some rare disease just from being in there. During my appointment, I never once felt listened to or understood. They didn't seem to care about anything I had to say. They barely gave me any information at all. I'm going to have to do my own research to get my questions answered. I didn't feel safe at all under their care. I didn't feel like they had my best interest at heart. I've been to a psychiatrist before that used a lot of foul language and it made me very uncomfortable, but they don't do that here. They were always very respectful and courteous.
