Dr. Magee himself has rather poor "bedside manner" and actually spoke very little to me during my visits. I was never very pleased with him, but I remained with the practice for a couple years because the rest of the staff was so good with my small kids.

However, my daughter recently fell and knocked out a tooth, injuring a few others. I called the office at noon on a Friday to find that the office was closed. I did receive a call back from the doctor on the emergency line only to hear that he would not come into the office and he had no other dentist to refer her to. His suggestion was to visit the ER (which I learned later has no dentist on staff and does not deal with teeth).

If this dentist does not have another provider to refer people to, he should make every effort to come in and see his patients when they do have an emergency. I am certainly not going back there, and would recommend others not as well.

I am writing this review because I am extremely disappointed in this office and the procedure Dentist John Magee performed on me for no reason. After my 2nd time visiting the office, and having to wait for at least 10-15 minutes each time to be seen, I was told that I had a cavity on the outside of one of my teeth by my gumline. I was skeptical about having a cavity on the outside of my tooth especially since I rarely have cavities at all, but went back to have the procedure done the next week anyway. I was more nervous than usual for this appointment and I think for good reason. Dentist Magee gave me the novacane, several minutes later proceeded to drill my "cavity" then filled it. The procedure went quickly, but for the next several days after I had a headache ever day and my gum area was extremely sensitive and uncomfortable. After over a week of this issue I decided to go back to my previous dentist because I no longer had any trust in the Family Dentistry office. My previous dentist told me that Dentist Magee pretty much performed an unnecessary procedure on my tooth. He said that the bonding was too low and close to my gum line and it was irritating it as well as causing the discomfort and pain. I will NEVER go back to Family Dentistry and I do not recommend that anyone else go there either.
