They definitely pressured me to buy the treatmentss. I felt like they were just trying to make money off of me. He didn't listen to anything I had to say! When I tried to express my concerns, he wasn't listening to me, but ready to just tell me what I NEEDED! I felt very rushed. The treatments were so fast and didn't seem like it was doing anything...which it didn't! Just a warning, they do not adhere to the customer is always right policy no matter what the situation is. He certainly didn't listen to the customers complaints and attempt to make me happy. Didn't respect the discount coupon or cared about my repeat business or satisfaction. That's just bad business. felt taken..beware..read reviews!

This doctor is horrible. I have problems with keloid scaring. Made promises that he can make an area unnoticeable and bragged how successful he was in the past. Even purposely used a less aggressive approach just to increase the number of office visits because he charges by the number of office visits/procedures. In the end he failed in ridding my scar and said there was nothing more he can do and wouldn't even look me in the eye. Went to other surgeons and two visits and scar is mostly gone vs 8 visits with koupaie and 2000 dollars wasted. Also keloid scarring is covered by most health insurance even if it is mainly for cosemetics. Don't believe this guy and just go somewhere else.

I do not recommend Dr. Koupaie at all. I have had bad acne for many years and I have always felt very sensitive about my skin. During my first visit, Dr. Koupaie was very short with me and did not even give my skin a close examination. Although I understand that my condition must be very common, Dr. Koupaie did not make any effort to make me feel comfortable. In the short 10 minute office visit, he never smiled once.

During my second visit, he practically demanded that I get a chemical peel. I don't know if this is standard treatment for young patients under 20, but he did not even give me the opportunity to express how I felt about it. Needless to say, I felt that a chemical peel (for a 18 year old!) was ridiculous and did not make a further appointment.

On top of Dr. Koupaie's lack of bedside manners, his office is also unkindly and disorganized. I had called ahead in May to make an appointment in July, only to be told by the office, in an unfriendly and terse way, that they did not have their appointment book up that far yet. (Don't offices usually have appointment books up to 6 months or a year?)

Furthermore, Dr. Koupaie's office demands that patients with unmet deductibles to pay in full for their office visit. Even though, my insurance company had told me explicitly twice that office visits with a specialist is not subject to deductibles and I only need to cover the copay. I spoke with his office several times about what my insurance has informed me, however they still insist that their billing office wants the payment in full upfront. They did not take the time to understand my insurance or even try talking to my insurance company about what my plan really covers.

The entire office is difficult, unfriendly, and poorly organized. They made me feel that they are only interested in earning money and had no interest for their patients. I felt like just because I was seeing him for acne that I was not worth his time or his office's time.
