Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons lime juice

  • 2 tablespoons Asian fish sauce (nuocmam or nam pla)

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

  • 2 tablespoons water

  • 6 cups red or green cabbage finely shredded

  • 1/2 cup slivered red onion, rinsed and drained

  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves, chopped

  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

  • 1/2 cup roasted, salted peanuts, chopped

  • Salt, to taste

Directions

  • Mix the lime juice, fish sauce, sugar, chile flakes, and water in a large bowl. Add the cabbage and onion, mixing well.

  • Add the mint, cilantro, peanuts, and salt to the cabbage mixture just before serving. Mix well.
