Ingredients

  • 4 cups strawberries, sliced

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • 8 cups cold water

  • 1 lime, cut into 8 wedges (optional)

  • 8 fresh mint sprigs (optional)

Directions

  • In a mixing bowl, toss the strawberries, sugar, and 1 cup cold water together. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 4 hours.

  • After 4 hours, remove the bowl and spoon the strawberry-sugar mixture into a blender and puree until smooth. After pureeing the mixture, strain it over a large bowl to remove the seeds and pulp.

  • Pour the other 7 cups of water into the bowl and stir well. Either refrigerate for several hours to chill, or pour over ice to serve immediately. Add lime slices or mint leaves for garnish as desired.
