Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh broccoli florets

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sesame oil

  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil

  • 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 3/4 teaspoon sugar

  • 3/4 teaspoon lemon juice

Directions

  • In a saucepan with about an inch of water, bring the broccoli to boil, and then reduce the heat. Cover the pan, and simmer for five to eight minutes or until tender-crisp. Drain the water and place in a serving bowl.

  • Heat the sesame oil, vegetable oil, and red pepper flakes over medium heat for two minutes or until hot. Add the soy sauce, sugar, lemon juice, and garlic. Cook for 1-2 minutes or until the sugar dissolves.

  • Pour the garlic sauce over the broccoli and serve warm or chilled.
