Ingredients

  • 4 slices angel food cake

  • 1 pint strawberries, hulled and sliced

  • 1/2 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  • Cut a round disk of cake out of each slice using a drinking glass. Place each disk in a small bowl.

  • Break the leftover cake into pieces and set aside.

  • In a medium-sized bowl, combine the strawberries with the vinegar and ½ tablespoon of sugar. Set aside.

  • In a larger mixer bowl, combine the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and the remaining sugar with an electric mixer until soft.

  • Top each cake disk with the strawberry mixture and the broken cake pieces. Garnish with the whipped cream.
