Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 cups flour

  • 4 ounces warm water

  • 1 ounce plain yogurt

  • 1 teaspoon yeast

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • Soybean oil or canola oil

Directions

  • Dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm water. Add the flour and salt into a large bowl. When the sugar/yeast water is foamy, dump it into the flour. Add the yogurt to this mixture. Mix this all in the bowl using a spoon until it is somewhat doughy.

  • Then use your hands to mix until the dough becomes more solid. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes. Put it back into its bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise for 30 minutes.

  • Heat a large, nonstick pan on high until it is hot, then turn the stove down between medium and high.

  • Take about half of the dough and roll it out flat. Use a fork to prick the dough all over. Brush the dough with a small amount of oil and then put that side down onto the hot pan. Put a small amount of oil on the top of the dough.

  • Cook bread until brown then turn over. Watch the bread because it may burn easily. Cook the other half of the dough in the same manner.
