Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon water

  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano

  • 3 ripe avocados

  • 1 cup cooked garbanzo beans

  • 1 small onion, minced

  • 1 small tomato, minced

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped

  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

  • Cayenne pepper to taste

Directions

  • Combine the water and the spices together in a bowl and set it aside.

  • Halve the avocados and remove the pits. Scoop out the avocado with a spoon.

  • Cut the avocado into thirds and add it to the bowl of spices along with the garbanzo beans.

  • Add the onion and tomato to the bowl of guacamole along with the lemon juice, chopped cilantro, and salt.

  • Mash the guacamole with a potato masher and fold with a wooden spoon to blend the spices well.

  • Season to taste with cayenne.

  • Refrigerate the guacamole, covered, until ready to serve.
