Ingredients

  • 3 chicken breasts, diced small

  • 4 tablespoons olive oil

  • 5 cardamom pods

  • 2 onions, chopped finely

  • 2 teaspoons fresh ginger, finely chopped

  • 2 teaspoons garlic, chopped

  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder

  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder

  • 2 tablespoons tomato puree

  • Salt to taste

  • Cilantro to garnish

  • Water as needed

Directions

  • Place a pan on the stovetop on medium heat and add the oil. Add the cardamom pods when the oil is hot.

  • Put the onions in the pan and cook until caramelized.

  • Add all of the spices, including ginger and garlic. Cook for about two minutes.

  • Add the tomato puree and mix well.

  • Pour in the water to a liquid consistency and keep stirring until the gravy simmers. Add salt to taste.

  • Add the chicken into the mixture and heat for about 10-12 minutes, until cooked.

  • Garnish with cilantro and serve.
