Dr. Greg Doull is simply the best internist I have ever seen (I'm 68, so I've seen my share). For starters, he's a nice guy. He's engaging, pleasant, and knowledgeable. He listens intently and then answers the question that's asked. As befits a professional in his line of work, he's a man of nuance and subtlety.

I am overweight, and that is the principal reason that I sought him out. My. G.P. is a nice guy, but he hadn't done a thing for me weight-wise. In fact, he had never even brought up the subject during the several annual physicals I've gotten from him. That was what motivated me to look elsewhere.

Well, it turns out that Dr. Doull (pronouced "DOWL") is an absolute encyclopedia of knowledge about the problem of obesity. He made about six recommendations that not only had I not not heard of but also that were counter-intuitive. I quizzed him on every one, and he didn't miss a beat. I've since bought off on all six of them.

This is the first physician I've talked to about this problem who was dead-serious about helping me. . .and had the chops--and most important, TOOK THE TIME--to do it. I am now highly motivated to start peeling off the kilos that my voracious appetite, lack of dining discipline, and glacial metabolism have helped me accumulate. It helps that Dr. Doull himself is as skinny as a rail. He's about 6'2" and probably doesn't weigh 160 lbs. I'm several inches shorter and weighed about 110 lbs. more when I saw him five days ago.

So far, I have lost 9 lbs. so far. No pills or anything like that. Just the right diet, a wife with a bull whip, and a ton of exercise. But Dr. Doull is my long-sought catalyst for the commitment I've made--to my bride and to myself--to shed this weight and extend my life.

I can't say enough good things about this kind, wise, and wonderful physician. He is the best, the absolute best.
