Dr. Shah is the antithesis of what a quality doctor is supposed to be. My loved one died under his care in the hospital. Here's how a typical visit during his rounds went:

- Dr. Shah would spend 2-3 minutes putting on his gloves and gown (because my family member had an infection)
- He would then proceed to ask her how the person was doing (although that person was completely not alert due to the infection): 10 seconds
- He would then ask me if my loved one had eaten (he always forgot that the person had a NG tube, which prevented eating by mouth): 10 seconds
- He would then proceed to take off his gloves and gown and leave the room

Dr. Shah spent more time putting on his gown and gloves than treating my loved one or communicating with me. He was never willing to answer questions. He never gave a valid reason for why my loved one developed an infection or why the WBC kept elevating even though antibiotics were being given. He never reviewed my family member's chart before entering the room. He was never compassionate. He didn't answer phone calls on a timely basis. He was not qualified.

Dr. Shah is an older doctor but that didn't equate to better treatment. He constantly seemed puzzled with my family member's condition. I will forever regret not asking for a different Infectious Disease doctor (he was assigned by the hospital). My loved one died with a WBC close to 30 (should be between 4-10). The WBC was spiking for the whole week, yet Dr. Shah took no action until 2 days before this person died. Please reconsider choosing or having assigned Dr. Shah as your ID doctor.
