He obtained his medical degree from Universidad Dr. José Matías Delgado in San Salvador, El Salvador, followed by a clinical research fellowship in Movement Disorders at the University of Cincinnati. He completed his Neurology residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, serving as chief resident and earning a national leadership distinction from the American Academy of Neurology. After residency, he completed a Movement Disorders Fellowship at Emory University, followed by an Autonomic Disorders Fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School.

Ricardo Lopez Castellanos, M.D. is a board-certified neurologist specializing in Movement Disorders and Autonomic Disorders (problems with automatic body functions).
