Dr. Jarrard is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Her special interests include newborn medicine and breastfeeding, nutrition and obesity management, and preventative care and wellness.
Dr. Jarrard met her husband Howell in medical school, and after they both completed medical training in Pittsburgh, they moved to Charleston. Merry and Howell live on James Island and feel blessed to call this beautiful city their home. In her free time, Dr. Jarrard enjoys going to the beach, cooking, traveling, reading, and taking long walks with her husband and son, Will.
Merry Jarrard
Dr. Merry Jarrard was born and raised in and around Atlanta, GA. She attended the University of Georgia for her biology and nutrition undergraduate studies. Dr. Jarrard then completed medical school at the Medical College of Georgia, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She then completed her pediatric residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). After training, Dr. Jarrard worked as an Assistant Professor for the UPMC Department of Pediatrics and also served as a newborn hospitalist at UPMC Magee-Women's Hospital until 2022, when she joined our team at Coastal Pediatric Associates.Dr. Jarrard is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
