Dr Tariq Almerey is an Assistant Professor of Hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) Surgical Oncology at the University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville. He specializes in complex liver, pancreas, and biliary tract surgery with special focus and expertise in minimally invasive HPB Surgery. Dr Almerey completed his HPB surgery fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University and his general surgery residency at Mayo Clinic Florida, where he also undertook dedicated research in HPB and vascular surgery. He earned his medical degree from Damascus University and holds board certification in general surgery and the AHPBA certificate for HPB Surgery. In 2025, he was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
