Dr. Eric Nuermberger is a Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His areas of clinical expertise include infectious diseases, including tuberculosis. Dr. Nuermberger received his undergraduate degree in psychology from Kenyon University. He earned his M.D. from Vanderbilt. He completed his residency and a fellowship in infectious diseases at Johns Hopkins Hospital. His research interests include the translational aspects of drug development for treatment of tuberculosis and non-tuberculous mycobacterial infections. He works with mice and other models to develop new, shorter and more effective drug regimens for these challenging infections.Dr. Nuermberger is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society for Microbiology, the Infectious Diseases Society of America, and the American Thoracic Society.
