Isa Sayyeed Karim Mohammed is the director of refractive surgery and specializes in cornea, cataract and refractive surgery at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Medicine. He performs complex cataract surgery, corneal transplantation (penetrating keratoplasty, deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty, and descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty and descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty) and the entire range of refractive surgery, including laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis, photorefractive keratectomy and implantable collamer lenses surgery.
Dr. Mohammed earned an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering at The Johns Hopkins University and then received his medical doctorate from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center, where he received both the Outstanding Resident Award and the Malouf Resident Research Award for excellence in research. He then completed more subspecialty training in cornea and refractive surgery at the renowned Cole Eye Institute at the Cleveland Clinic.
