Jennifer Doorey
Jennifer Doorey, M.D., M.S., is an assistant professor in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Her areas of clinical expertise include general obstetrics and gynecology, family planning,minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and gender affirming gynecologic procedures.Dr. Doorey received an undergraduate degree in economics from Princeton University. She went on to complete a Master of Science in clinical and health services research from Dartmouth College, followed by obtaining an M.D. from the University of North Carolina. Dr. Doorey began her residency at the University of Hawaii, and she completed training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. She is a published author and has been invited to speak at national as well as international conferences regarding surgical education, contraception and family planning, pregnancy and COVID-19 vaccines, and patient care and rehabilitation after hospitalization.Her research interests include medical education, particularly simulation and procedural education, and the effects of medical intervention in labor and delivery. In 2022, Dr. Doorey received the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) National Faculty Award for Excellence in Resident Education. She is also the host of popular medical student podcast Procedure Ready: Ob/Gyn, during which she talks about how M.D., N.P. and P.A. students can prepare for their first procedural experiences.
