Alison Buchholz

Dr. Buchholz is a clinical neuropsychologist and core faculty member in the Division of Medical Psychology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, with appointments as Assistant Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Neurology. She received a bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology from Lehigh University, a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Towson University, and her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. Following a one-year neuropsychology internship at the Rush University Medical Center, Dr. Buchholz completed a three-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at Johns Hopkins University.Dr. Buchholz is a founding member of the Functional Neurological Disorder Society and specializes in the evaluation and treatment of functional neurological symptom disorders (FNSDs). In this capacity, she is working to develop a multidisciplinary center for evaluation and management of FNSDs at Johns Hopkins. She currently serves as the primary neuropsychologist for the Johns Hopkins Adult Epilepsy Center. She maintains clinical research databases to examine neuropsychological profiles and treatment predictors and outcomes in patients with FNSDs and epilepsy. She also serves as the primary neuropsychologist for the Johns Hopkins Healthy Brain Program.
