Isabel Deakins, O.D., F.A.A.O., is an optometrist and instructor of ophthalmology serving patients at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Medicine locations in Arlington, Virginia, and Bethesda, Maryland. After earning her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston, she completed her residency in ocular disease and cornea/contact lenses at Mass Eye and Ear in Boston. In addition to providing comprehensive and urgent eye care, Dr. Deakins fits specialty contact lenses including scleral, rigid gas permeable, hybrid, multifocal, aphakic and toric lenses.
Dr. Deakins serves on the advisory board of the Gas Permeable Lens Institute. Before joining Wilmer, she held a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School, and served as an attending physician for optometric residents at Mass Eye and Ear and the New England College of Optometry.
