Dr. Mary Martinelli is a Research Associate in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and licensed Clinical Psychologist for the Johns Hopkins Eating Disorders program. Her research aims to identify and understand the precipitating and perpetuating factors that influence treatment outcomes in eating disorders. The overarching goal of this work is to inform the development and testing of novel adaptations to existing cognitive-behavioral treatments in order to improve long-term outcomes.
Dr. Martinelli provides individual and family therapy for adults and adolescents diagnosed with eating disorders and conducts pre-surgical psychiatric evaluations for bariatric surgery candidates.
Dr. Martinelli received her undergraduate degree in psychology from University of Maryland. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Drexel University.
