Dr. Danelle Cayea is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She is a specialist in geriatric medicine. Her clinical interests include the primary care of older adults with chronic illness and the care of hospitalized older adults.
She serves as the director of the Daniel and Jeannette Hendin Schapiro Geriatric Medical Education Center, as the vice chair for education for the Department of Medicine, and as the Director of the Medicine Core Clerkship Program.
Her research focuses on developing and evaluating curricula used to teach medical trainees about elder care. She has published a number of scholarly articles and book chapters on this topic and has been recognized for her teaching excellence.
Dr. Cayea holds an M.S. in medical education from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She earned her medical degree at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She completed internal medicine residencies at both Montefiore University Hospital and Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, as well as a geriatric medicine fellowship at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
