Homa Timlin
Dr. Homa Timlin is an assistant professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Her areas of clinical expertise include systemic lupus erythematosus, and lupus nephritis.
Dr. Timlin serves on the faculty of the Johns Hopkins Consultative Rheumatology Clinic.
A member of the Royal College of Physicians, Dr. Timlin earned her medical degree at Romania’s Universitatea de Medicana Si Farmacie Carol Davila.
Upon completion of rheumatology fellowships, Oxford in the United Kingdom and an internal medicine residency in the United States, she joined the Johns Hopkins Lupus Center in 2011. After a one-year postdoctoral lupus fellowship under the mentorship of Dr. Michelle Petri, she finished her post-doctoral fellowship in rheumatology at Johns Hopkins.
She also holds a master’s degree in clinical immunology (London University), MRCP diploma (Member of the Royal College of Physicians), Certificate of Completion of Specialty Training (CCST).
Dr. Timlin has been an active educator who works with trainees at all levels, nationally and internationally, in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Presently, Dr. Timlin has established a retrospective cohort of several hundred patients with lupus and lupus nephritis, and site lead at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Dr. Timlin is the medical chair for the local chapter of Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) and the director of an IRB-approved prospective human diagnostic study using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to evaluate lupus nephritis.
