Elisa Ignatius
Dr. Elisa H. Ignatius is an infectious diseases and clinical pharmacology specialist at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She is an expert in the care of patients with nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) infections, tuberculosis (TB), bronchiectasis, HIV/AIDS, and other general infectious diseases. Additionally, she provides teaching for medical students, residents, and fellows at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.Dr. Ignatius earned her M.D. and completed Internal Medicine residency at Emory University School of Medicine. She also obtained a Masters of Science in the Control of Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where her research focused on drug-resistant tuberculosis in South Africa. After completing residency, she worked as a co-investigator on HIV prevention clinical trials in Atlanta, Georgia. She then came to Johns Hopkins University where she completed fellowships in both Infectious Diseases and Clinical Pharmacology.Dr. Ignatius’s research interests focus on treatment optimization strategies for mycobacterial infections (NTM and TB), including regimens of novel and standard drugs.
