Matthew McGuirk, MD, is a University of Florida assistant professor of surgery and a board-certified general surgeon at UF Health Jacksonville. Dr McGuirk completed his residency at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY and completed a Minimally Invasive Surgery/Bariatric Surgery fellowship at UPMC in Pittsburgh, PA. During fellowship he gained expertise in a broad array of minimally invasive and robotic general and bariatric surgery. His clinical interests include gallbladder surgery, hernia surgery, foregut surgery and robotic surgery. He is committed to patient-centered care and surgical education. Outside of work, Dr McGuirk enjoys sports, cooking, travelling, going to the beach and spending time with his family and pets.
