Helping patients navigate the difficult decision-making that comes with complicated diseases, I strive to bring compassion, kindness and understanding to every responsibility, whether it’s managing a symptom or holding a hand. I feel it’s important to cultivate relationships with patients to help them in their journey, and to see each patient not as his or her illness, but as their individual selves.
After years as a hospice nurse, I wanted to do more for those patients experiencing a time in their lives that is often complex and overwhelming. I feel palliative care is my calling. My years as a nurse have taught me good listening skills and excellent communication, as well as to cherish every moment.
