I was drawn to dermatology because of the complexity of skin diseases and treatments. I enjoy the mix of medical and procedural care in dermatology. I also like that I can care for a range of patients, from infants to people at the end of life. By the time a patient comes to see me, they may have seen several other providers for their skin problem. They are often frustrated and wary of yet another physician. My nursing colleagues and I foster a friendly environment. We reassure our patients that they are in the right place to get the care they need. I have been involved with global and humanitarian health since 2012, working in various settings in the U.S. and abroad. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the human experience around the world and a unique perspective on our own healthcare system.
