Daud Lodin

Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Dr. Daud Lodin earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry, chemistry, and Italian literature at the University of California, San Diego. He completed a masters in Public Health at Emory University, where he completed several projects with the department of health policy and outside of public health. Dr. Lodin worked in clinical trials at the Emory School of Medicine’s Department of Endocrinology on cystic fibrosis research, focusing on high dose vitamin D administration, as well as vitamin delivery method efficacy. He worked with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on neglected tropical disease research, examining drug coverage in rural African communities. And as a recipient of the Global Field Experience Award, he partnered with the DREAM Project, an NGO in Cabarete, Dominican Republic, where he performed a knowledge and practices evaluation on HIV prevention for local youth in impoverished communities.After his work in Atlanta, Dr. Daud Lodin attended medical school at San Juan Bautista School of Medicine. In medical school, he conducted research with UC San Francisco’s Benioff Hospital to examine outcomes and cost for Tetralogy of Fallot patients during their index surgical correction. His work led to a national award with the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, as a recipient of the Looking to the Future Scholarship. He also won the Arnold P Gold Foundation’s Gold Humanism Award and the Association of Academic Surgery’s Senior Medical Student Award.He entered general surgery residency at Florida Atlantic University Schmidt College of Medicine, winning multiple awards including the David Wulkan Humanism Award and the American Association for Surgery of Trauma’s 20forTwenty award, recognizing up and coming physicians in the field of trauma and burn surgery. During his Added Value Year, he completed a burn surgery fellowship at Weill Cornell New York Presbyterian Hospital, where he found himself at home with the greater New York City community and the high-quality care provided by the NYP staff. Dr. Lodin received training in basic and complex burn care, as well as ICU burn care, hyperbaric therapy, laser scar management, and complex reconstructive interventions. He also completed a surgical critical care and trauma fellowship at NYU Langone Medical center, where he gained key training in complex critical trauma care, ECMO management, point of care ultrasound, neurological emergencies, and complex cardiovascular surgical care. In his spare time, he tutors and mentors high schoolers, university students, medical students, and residents. He is also an instructor of the Advanced Trauma Life Support Training Program.
