As a first generation Asian American and the first in my family to go into medicine, I was raised in a traditional, hard-working, and blue-collar household. My parents taught me to value family, friends, and colleagues, and to become a good, well-rounded person. At an early age, I wanted to work in careers that would allow me to do all I can for my fellow citizens. That steered me toward an early career in law where I fulfilled my duties to my clients by ensuring their legal interests were always protected. Then life took me down the path of medicine. Gratefully, now I have the opportunity to build life-long doctor-patient relationships with my patients.
