Dr Herndon was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He earned his Bachelor's Degree at the University of Florida and Medical Degree at the University of Florida College of Medicine. Before graduating from medical school, he was awarded two distinctions regarding Family Medicine related to scholastic performance, leadership, community service and exemplifying the ideals of the specialty. He remained in Gainesville at UF Health/Shands Hospital for his residency where he was nominated to serve as a member of the Program Evaluation Committee and worked regularly with the student-run, free clinic.
