Dr Gregg Tolliver grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, and attended college at University of California San Diego. He went to University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, Arizona. During medical school, he traveled and studied extensively in Central America, and became fluent in Spanish. He also worked in Pakistan on a medical anthropology scholarship. For residency training, Dr Tolliver relocated to the Boston area and completed a Primary Care Internal Medicine residency at The Cambridge Hospital. He then attended Harvard School of Public Health with a focus on International Health. Under the guidance of the well-known infectious disease physician Dr Paul Farmer, Dr Tolliver worked with Partners In Health in Mexico.
