James Shubert, DO
Dr Shubert is the first person in his family to pursue a career in medicine. I was lucky to have two incredible parents who provided me with the strength and opportunity to do whatever I wanted. During school, he gravitated toward math and science. He initially believed he wanted to be an engineer but ultimately developed a strong interest in medicine. Dr Shubert says, critical care medicine is the most intense and interesting specialty because your patients are often at their sickest, and you have the opportunity to help those with the most need. The COVID pandemic was the biggest impact on Dr Shubert's life since it was during his fellowship training in critical care medicine.
