Paula Hughes-Barnes, MD, is a fellowship-trained obesity medicine specialist and board-certified in both obesity and family medicine. She earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and completed her residency at Cook County Health–Loyola University, followed by an obesity medicine fellowship at Northwell Health. A founding member of the Obesity Medicine Consortium, Dr. Hughes-Barnes emphasizes treating the whole person. Her clinical focus includes the connection between stress, sleep, and weight, as well as the emotional factors tied to disordered eating. She is known for her relatable, compassionate care.
