Marisa R. Adelman

Dr. Adelman is a dedicated women’s health specialist at the University of Utah Health. As a minimally invasive gynecologic surgery consultant, she focuses on the comprehensive care and treatment of cervical dysplasia, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, symptomatic fibroid uteri, adnexal masses, and chronic pelvic pain. Dr. Adelman provides both medical and surgical solutions, utilizing advanced laparoscopic techniques to deliver minimally invasive care tailored to each patient’s needs. Additionally, she is accepting patients as a consultant for cervical dysplasia, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, symptomatic uterine fibroids, adnexal masses, chronic pelvic pain, and gender-affirming surgery. Dr. Adelman is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She teaches in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, where she contributes to the Division of General OB/GYN. She completed her fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecology at Scripps. She undertook her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Vanderbilt University. She earned her medical degree from the University of Virginia and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Adelman’s research interests are centered on the development and use of electrosurgical devices and techniques, as well as on surgical curriculum development for resident education. Her work aims to enhance clinical outcomes and educational methodologies within her specialty.
