What drew me to hematology was the variety of diseases I treat and the chance to interact with people from across the healthcare spectrum. For some hematologic diseases, we care for people throughout their lives; for others, it's just a few consultations. Both scenarios provide an opportunity to diagnose, treat and educate people.Hematology is also an area where we often look at a lot of data, but I tailor my approach to the person before me rather than relying on something that's one-size-fits-all.
