Reeba Mathew, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine specialist. She’s also an associate professor in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Mathew is the medical director of UT Physicians Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine and co-medical director of the Memorial Hermann Sleep Disorders Center at Texas Medical Center. She is also the associate program director of the UTHealth Houston Sleep Medicine Fellowship Program. Mathew was awarded her medical degree from the Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences in India. She completed her medicine-pediatrics internship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She completed residency training in internal medicine, followed by fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care medicine and in sleep medicine at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She also received hyperbaric medicine certification and completed the UTHealth Houston Memorial Hermann Clinical Safety and Effectiveness Program in 2022. She’s a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) and serves on the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) education committee. Mathew also serves as vice president of the Southern Sleep Society. Outside of work, she enjoys reading and music and values faith and family.
