Dr Alvarez is a board-certified physician in Family Medicine. He received his medical doctorate from the Universite d'Etat d'Haiti (State University of Haiti) in Port-au- Prince. He is a graduate of the Institute for Family Health's Mid-Hudson Family Practice Residency. He served as the Medical Director of the Family Health Center of Harlem for five years, where he led multiple Continuous Quality Improvement projects. Dr Alvarez was a core faculty member for the Harlem Residency in Family Medicine. He served as Assistant Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. He has a strong interest in sports medicine. He is fluent in French, Creole and proficient in Spanish.
